This seemed like a rough ride. When I was going North, I was going against the wind. When I turned around, I swear I was going against the wind again. There were very few points in which I didn't feel like I was working just to keep moving.
...But that is why we train, right? To keep getting better at something.
There was a portion of the trail that was ripped up and covered in gravel about .5 miles from the start/finish. I had to dismount and walk clear from the trail on the way back because there was a tractor packing the gravel.
I almost hit a girl on her bike. She and a friend were in front of me. One was on the far left side of the trail, and the other was on the far right side. As I approached, I told them I was going in between them. The girl on the right started crossing over to the girl on the left and ended up right in front of me. I skidded to a near stop as our bikes almost hit and she apologized. Probably the worst part about it was riding away, I was still in a high gear and got a cramp in my calf as I got myself back up to speed.
I got to use my new Garmin forerunner 305. This was also an experiment in uploading, sharing, etc.
I messed up with the Garmin, Apparently. I started it one point when I was outside work, and so it kind of messes up my stats a bit...and I found out later that I was in multisport mode. I still have a lot to figure out about this thing.
I figure...why bother posting my bike computer stats, when there are much more thorough stats at Garmin Connect.
Enjoy it. Somebody needs to.
