Well, the weather was beautiful, and I thought quite a bit about doing a 1 hour ride/run block. I figured it would be cool to get some real results from that and see how I actually do.
When I got to the park, I noticed my forerunner 305 battery was dead. This was disappointing as I charged it fully and then turned it off a few days earlier. Apparently they haven't activated a deep sleep in their processor and it continues draining current even while the unit appears to be "off".
So then I put my wheels on my bike. I notice my bike computer is not working. The cable that goes down to the sensor was frayed at one of the zip ties around my front fork.
So...I decided to just ride.
I rode to the 8 mile marker and back. with trip to the parking lot, it comes to about 17 miles. It was windy, but it was the first sunny day of spring and it was quite peaceful.
I have a long ways to go to get my tiny legs strong enough to push me through the full course. I can do 16 miles...but can I do 25? I will find out Sunday.
