This is the first run I have done since the 3 speed interval training runs. It is also the longest run that I have done. I would like to get up to 1/2 marathon ability by next year.
This is the farthest distance I have ever run. 10k (6.2 miles) is the previous longest distance. When I got to 3 miles, I thought "What's another mile before I turn around?". I'll tell you...it's 2 miles.
So I feel really good about the run. The time wasn't much of an improvement speed-wise, but I really wasn't going for speed...I was working on the following things:
-Instead of walking, keep jogging (with a silent 'j') at a 9:00 pace.
-running at sub-8minute pace for as much as I could.
As my run went on, the numbers look closer together...but that is expected. I stopped to walk 3 times for .12 miles each time.
I am encouraged, and I see room for improvement.
