This run was the first run after a cruise that we went on. I was worried about how I would do after all of the food I ate. I am going to do a 10k race this Sunday, so I figured I should probably get a run in to "shake the weight". I did a lot better than I thought I would. In fact, about halfway through the workout, I began getting confident.
...too confident...
I decided that I would try to stretch this out into a 4 mile run in 30 minutes. Instead of sticking at a 7 minute running pace, I decided to just "run real fast" on the speed portion of the intervals. This worked for the first couple of interval drills.
Unfortunately, it isn't smart to run a sub-7 minute pace after running 3 miles. 27 minutes into the workout, I wanted to do a hard, fast run. It looks like I was between a 6:20 pace and a 5:50 pace. But I couldn't maintain it through the entire 3 minutes. I ended up walking while completely burned out for the last 45 seconds.
I didn't realize I was going that fast until I look at the data. Oops. Not smart after 3 miles. All of this is seen if you click "View Details".
