I'm glad I decided to take my bike to work today.  The temp was about 80 degrees which is just right for being able to wear tri shorts and a tri top in a populated area without looking wierd.

The wind was blowing while I was going North.  I kept my head low and focused on my cadence and I was able to keep it above 16mph the whole time.  I was going to turn around at 8.5 miles.  I blew past it and decided to go to 9 miles.  On the way South, I was with the wind quite a bit and it was my goal to keep at 19+mph.  Mile 11-14.5 was a blur and I think I was in 20+mph on those miles.

I have improved my overall riding speed to 18mph!...on an 18 mile ride!  I am over halfway to my goal of 20mph!  Very exciting.

I stopped to eat a Gu Chomp at the turnaround so that affected my overall time/average speed...but my moving speed is still seeing improvement.   I think that the strength training I am doing at the gym is helping out.

A beautiful day for a ride, and a great ride.  Now to get back to work.  :(
