1/14/2011 - 3.5 mile run

On Thursday, I was down with the flu.  I missed that 3 mile run...but I stick to the schedule.  Today I did a 3.5 mile weekend run.

It was snowing in many surrounding areas.  Although we saw some flakes, it wasn't enough to stick or make an impression.  At the kids' naptime, it stopped raining and made it a much more comfortable running environment.

We live on a hill.  I started by going up the hill to get the pain out of the way at the beginning...that was somewhat foolish.  My heartrate was up at 180 going up the hill and it was hard to bring it down without walking.

I ran up to the trail which was thick with mud, so I opted to turn around and just run around the neighborhood.

On my way back down the hill, I got to see all the way to Seattle, and was able to see all of the weather clouds in the surrounding areas.  It was really cool.

It was a good run, but I'm glad it was not longer.  It was slow moving, high heart rate, and just all around difficult.  I don't think I would have been able to make it 5 miles.
