I have never been a part of a sport in which the last person gets as much respect as the winner.
When I watch this video it tears me up a little. It shows the compassion from other athletes, and all of the emotion that occurs at the finish line of an ironman race.
Last year we volunteered at the finish line for Ironman CDA. We didn't this year. I regret it. This would have been much more powerful in person:
"Dear Asthma: I win!"
