The Race Clock Doesn't Care About You...And Neither Does The Grim Reaper.
When you are in a race or training, it is easy to take your safety for granted. Since there are race marshals, cones, and loud PAs, there shouldn't be any need for concern, right?
Unfortunately, each year there are more and more race crashes getting documented. The videos all show pretty basic things that are taken for granted safety wise.
I didn't know what else to do with these videos, so I decided to make a blog post about them. Whether you race in triathlons, running races, or bike races, it is always possible for things to happen. Hopefully having this post up will remind people to stay safe.
Since the race season is upon us, I wanted to remind racers, volunteers, spectators, and people off course to stay safe. Posting these videos is not a "OOOH! FAIL BRO!", but rather a reminder that sometimes things happen and it is best to be aware of them during your race.
